For Curtis' birthday we had a really nice family day! I got home from work and my one-year-old was taking a nap and when he woke up we had a couple of presents for him to open. He had a lot of fun with that - especially ripping the tissue paper.
I has been so hot here that we decided to take the boy to the beach and he loved it! So did we - it felt so good to cool off.
When we have taken him to the beach before he
has NOT liked the sand on his hands or feet. This has been a good thing since we haven't had to worry about him getting sand everywhere - especially in his mouth. Until yesterday. At first he would touch the sand and quickly return to the safety of our beach mats. Then he realized that sand isn't so bad - actually, it can be kind of fun! He learned that crawling up the sand dunes is really cool! He loved having such a wide open space to crawl around in. We let him explore and he hardly looked back. He took off like he knew what he was doing. Is this a sign of what's to come? Are we in trouble?
