8 Months Old

What?? 8 months already? It's hard to believe that 8 months have gone by since that fateful day in July when we finally got to meet Curtis face to face for the first time.

The shirt he's wearing today is actually one (and the only piece of clothing) that I made before we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. I remember having a hard time creating anything, not knowing who I was sewing for. Now I think of all kinds of cute things to make for my handsome boy. Too bad I don't have a lot of time to sew.

Curtis has gone through so many changes. He now has 4(!) teeth. Two on top and two on bottom. It was a slow and painful journey for him to get that last top tooth through the gums, but thankfully it's out and he's much happier. Only 16 or so more to go! Yee haw.

At our last doctor visit Curtis was 16.9 pounds. Turns out he's in the 10th percentile for weight! You wouldn't know it from holding him - the boy is solid! He's right on target for his height. He must take after his pop - long and lean.

Curtis has been sitting up on his own for some time now, and we think he will be crawling any day. I set him on the floor and he manages to wiggle and squirm his way to where he wants to be. We have been frantically baby proofing - moving everything up and off the floor and making sure the things he can get into are safe. We're in for it.

Probably two of the things Curtis loves most in this world are the cats Taco and June Bug. When he sees them he screams with excitement and flails his little body. They never fail to brighten his day. Sadly, he doesn't have the same effect on them.

Curtis James you brighten our whole world!
